*How do you get good book reviews?*
_(Aside from paying your grandmother)_
Any author and indie publisher will tell you that book reviews are like gold - especially good reviews. Even negative but well-considered reviews lend an authenticity and balance to your publicity arsenal - and can make your books better. But what's the process for actually getting reviews, arguably the most critical element in the book marketing process?
*_Indie publishers often have questions like:_*
_How can I get respected reviewers' attention?_
Are well-known authors in my genre a good source of reviews?
_Is it worth the cost of NetGalley to get digital review copies to its 175,000 readers?_
When in the launch process should I send out review galleys?
_Should I go the traditional publicity route - newspapers, radio, TV shows, or use a mix of the two?_
Is it ethical to use a review from a public social media posting?
Guests: IPNE member & past president, Steve Carlson of one of my personal role-model indie publishers, +Upper Access Publishing; and +Mary Rowen, author of the novel _Living by Ear_ and the newly released _Leaving the Beach_.
